December 2011 Black Belt Testing Results |

The students and instructors of Harrow Choi Kwang Do would like to congratulate Harrow CKD's
newest Black Belts on their promotion to First Degree Black Belt! Congratulations to
Miss Karen Archibald, Mr Andrew Harris, Mrs Lisa Harris and Mr Dhrupen Malde.
Additionally, we would like to congratulate Mr Darshan Patel on his promotion to Second Degree
Black Belt.
All five students have worked extremely hard and performed exceptionaly well
at the testing on Sunday, 4th December 2011. Pil Suhng!
The examining panel for the testing held at Wembley Choi Kwang Do School consisted of
Master Banfield V, Master Wright V, Master Dario Arnese V, Master Harper V, Mr Lad IV,
Mr Spencer III and Ms Mederick III.

Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi Documentary |

Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi is a 9th Degree Black Belt and the founder of Choi Kwang Do.
Grandmaster Kwang Jo Choi was an internationally renowned master of Tae Kwon-Do under its founder
General Choi Hong Hi. However at the age of 30, he was forced to retire due to debilitating
injuries caused by the lock-out movements he practiced. During his recovery, he set out to
develop a new system of martial art that was less stressful to the body.
Through his research and the help of medical experts, he discovered new techniques that were by
far safer and more effective than anything else known at the time. In essence, he maximized the
benefits of martial arts whilst reducing the risk of injury.
Choi Kwang Do, as an entirely new martial arts system, was officially introduced to the world
from Atlanta on March 2, 1987.
